Northfield Health Services

Chiropractic Care

Chiropractic care is a healthcare discipline focused helping people perform their best and recovery from common musculoskeletal disorders of the spine and extremities. Chiropractors specialize in assessing and addressing dysfunctions in the muscles, joints, tendons, fascia and other soft-tissues in the body. Chiropractors aim to alleviate pain, restore function and improve quality of life by developing an individual and comprehensive treatment plan. Beyond addressing immediate concerns, chiropractors work with patients to promote long-term wellness, offering lifestyle advice, ergonomic guidance, and exercises to support musculoskeletal health. The goal of chiropractic care is to optimize spinal function, improve mobility, and contribute to the overall well-being of individuals seeking non-invasive and drug-free solutions for their health concerns.

We provide chiropractic care to people of all ages. Treatment techniques are modified based on the nature of your problem, your age, your likes/dislikes and what has worked for you in the past. Our chiropractors are trained in a variety of techniques. A "diversified" approach to treatment is taken using the most evidence-informed and clinically relevant techniques to treat musculoskeletal conditions.

Physiotherapy - ** COMING SOON **

Physiotherapy, also known as physical therapy, is a healthcare profession dedicated to helping individuals recover from injuries, manage pain, and improve overall physical function. When it comes to treating injuries, physiotherapists employ a comprehensive approach that involves assessing the patient's condition, identifying impairments, and developing personalized rehabilitation plans. These plans often include a combination of therapeutic exercises, manual techniques, and modalities such as heat or cold therapy. Physiotherapists work closely with patients to restore mobility, strength, and flexibility, while also addressing factors like posture and body mechanics to prevent future injuries. By fostering patient empowerment and emphasizing active participation in the recovery process, physiotherapy aims to enhance the individual's quality of life and facilitate a timely return to optimal health and function.

Acupunture

Acupuncture has been used for centuries to manage pain and treat injuries. It involves the insertion of very fine needles into the skin at specific points which are connected to muscles, tendons, nerves, and joints. The goal is to reduce pain and restore function.

Acupuncture is a safe and effective drug-free option for treatment. It can provide benefits where other conventional treatments have not been successful. The World Health Organization recognizes the use of acupuncture as an effective treatment of common conditions including:

  • headaches
  • neck and back pain
  • knee pain
  • jaw pain
  • shoulder pain and frozen shoulders
  • osteoarthritic pain
  • sports injuries
  • sciatica
  • tennis elbow
  • fibromyalgia
  • The acupuncture protocol used is customized to each patient's specific condition and based upon the results of a thorough assessment. Most people feel minimal discomfort during the treatment. In fact, many patients report feeling more relaxed after a treatment.

Dr. Witt provides “Contemporary Medical Acupuncture,” which can be utilized as a stand-alone treatment or in conjunction with other therapies. The number of treatments and the duration varies greatly between patients and is dependent on the condition and severity. Book an appointment to determine if Acupuncture could help you.

    Myofascial Release Techniques

Our clinicians have additional training in delivering a variety of myofascial release techniques. Many different soft-tissue release techniques exist such as Active Release Therapy, Myofascial Release Therapy, Trigenics, post-isometric relaxation and neuro-dynamic mobilization therapy.

Myofascial therapy is directed at treating injured muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and other soft-tissues in the body. These therapies can be used alone or combined with other therapies and exercises as part of a comprehensive treatment plan.

    Exercise Therapy and Physical Rehabilitation

Exercise is possibly one of the most effective types of therapies available. However, it is particularly important to know which exercises to perform for specific conditions and which ones to avoid. Our doctors will select therapeutic exercises that are safe for you to perform and will help improve your flexibility, strength and function.

    Custom Orthotic Therapy

Custom Orthotics can greatly improve the overall comfort of your feet. Perfect alignment of your ankles and support of your arches is achieved by laser scanned foot casts, 3D software analysis, and computerized orthotic milling. We provide custom orthotics to help keep you on the move.
